2017/2018 Chinese Government Scholarship Application
The 2017/2018 Chinese Government Scholarship Application is open for application as from today. Online application (http://www.csc.edu.cn/studyinchina) and the application documents should be submitted to Badan Koordinasi Pendidikan Bahasa Mandarin Jakarta no later thanMarch 20th, 2017.
I. Scholarship Introduction: ChineseGovernmentScholarshipProgram (Indonesia)
– general or senior scholar/undergraduate/master’s/doctoral programs -Full scholarship
*Does not include international travel expenses.
II.Eligibility: To be eligible, applicants must
– be a citizen of a country other than the People’s Republic of China, and be in good health.
– be a high school graduate under the age of 25 when applying for undergraduate programs;
– be a bachelor’s degree holder under the age of 35 when applying for master’s programs;
– be a master’s degree holder under the age of 40 when applying for doctoral programs;
– be under the age of 45 and have completed at least two years of undergraduate studywhen applying for general scholar programs;
– be a master’s degree holder or an associate professor (or above) under the age of 50when applying for senior scholar programs.
III. Application Documents( in duplicate, Chinese or English)
a) Application Forms for Chinese Government Scholarship(Only English or Chinese are accepted for the online application). The Application Form will be created automatically after the correct filling. The link ishttp://www.csc.edu.cn/studyinchinaorwww.campuschina.organd agency number (Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Indonesia) is 3602. Instructions of the online application is in the attachment.
b) Notarized highest diploma (photocopy): Prospective diploma winners must submit official proof of student status by their current school. Documents in the languages other than Chinese or English must be attached with notarized Chinese or English translations.
c) Academic transcripts: Transcripts in languages other than Chinese or English must be attached with notarized Chinese or English translations.
d) A Study Plan or Research Proposal in Chinese or English. (A minimum of 200 words for undergraduates, 500 words for non-degree students, and 800 words for postgraduates).
e) Recommendation letters: Applicants for graduate programs or senior scholar programs must submit two letters of recommendation in Chinese or English from professors or associate professors.
f) Applicants for music studies are requested to submit a CD of their own works. Applicants for fine arts programs must submit a CD of their own works which include two sketches, two color paintings and two other works.
g) Applicants under the age of 18 should submit the valid documents of their legal guardians in China.
h) Applicants planning to stay in China for more than 6 months must submit a photocopy of the Foreigner Physical Examination Form which should be filled in English (theoriginal copy should be kept by the applicant).

-The physical examinations must cover all the items listed in the Foreigner Physical Examination Form. Incomplete records or those without the signature of the attending physician, the official stamp of the hospital or a sealed photograph of the applicants are invalid. Please select the appropriate time to take physical examination as the result is valid for only 6 months.
i) Applicants with Admission Letter from designated universities should enclose the letter in the application package.
j) Applicants with valid HSK Certificate should enclose it in the application package. NOTE: The above documents should be bound on top left corner (in duplicate). No application documents will be returned.The incomplete application document will neither be evaluated, nor be accepted.
V. Time frames:
a) February 2017 to March 20th 2017
Applicants submit their online application (Indonesian Agency Number is 3602), contact their favorite Chinese universities, and send all paper documents (in duplicate)

After reviewing all application documents, the Cultural Office sends Award Letters to qualified candidates for Chinese Government Scholarship (applicants who are not on the list of candidates will not get noticed).
c)April 3st to April 23th 2017
Candidates can contact their favorite Chinese universities with the Award Letter, and send pre-admission letters (once available from the target universities) to the Cultural Office.
Note: The Pre-admission Letter from a Chinese university is not a necessary application material. Applications enclosed with the Pre-admission Letter will be sent directly to the host universities for placement confirmation. Applications without the Pre-admission Letter will be sent to universities to go through admission procedure. For applicants without the Pre-admission Letter, Chinese Scholarship Council cannot assure the host university will be one of the preferences of institution, since the capacity of the universities and the eligibility of the applicants will also be considered.
d)April 24th to April 30th 2017
The Cultural Office sends all applications to Chinese Scholarship Council for final review.
e) May 1st to July 31th 2017
Chinese Scholarship Council confirm the candidates’ applications; Scholarship winners get everything ready for studying in China.

Instructions of the Chinese Government Scholarship Information System
Step 1: Visit http://www.csc.edu.cn/laihua or www.campuschina.org and click “Application Online for International Students”.
Step 2: Read “Tips for online application” carefully before clicking “NEXT” to the registration page.
Step 3: Log in with your user name and password. For new user, please click “Create an account” for registration.
Step 4: Fill in the correct Program Category and Agency Number. An Agency Number represents a specific application receiving agency and a correct choose of Program Category is necessary before filling in the Agency Number. Please make sure you fill it in correctly, otherwise you will not be able to continue your online application or your application will not be accepted.
Your ‘Program Category’ is : Type A and ‘Agency Number’ is:3602. Once the correct ‘Agency Number’ is entered, the name of the agency will automatically emerge.
Step 5: Fill in the Online Application Form and Upload Supporting Documents truly, correctly and completely following the steps listed on the left of the page.
Applicants are required to select a discipline before choosing their majors. Please refer to the Disciplines Index, which could be downloaded from Help, if you have any doubt about the disciplines and majors.
Step 6: Check each part of your Application carefully before submitting it. Click Submit to submit your Application.
Step 7: You can make changes to your application by clicking Withdraw and Edit the Application on the top of the page. But make sure to submit it again by clicking Submit after finishing all the changes. Otherwise, the retrieved application will become invalid and your new application will not be received either.
Step 8: Download the completed Application Form by clicking Print the Application Form and print two hard copies.
Step 9: Prepare other supporting documents as required and send the full package of application documents (in duplicate) to the dispatching authorities.
